Chapter 4

Jesus. Look at that fat, pasty ass. You could do better, Milo.

Hunter can’t stop looking at the blog comment. He’d let Milo take a picture of him for his blog—tasteful, just of his butt while he was lying on the couch naked. When he’d first seen it he’d thought it’d come out well, but now he couldn’t even look at it.

The comment was gone by the time he clicked over to the blog, but the email notification assured him it’d been there. He wanted to talk to Milo about it, but he hated to seem needy. After he’d freaked out on him that one time, Hunter had tried dialing back the clinginess so it wouldn’t happen again.

They were still having great sex, and they were still on good enough terms that Hunter was letting Milo take naked pictures of him, but Hunter wasn’t really ready to risk getting any more emotionally reliant on Milo just yet.

All the same, the comment—and Milo’s lack of response—bugs him.

It eats at him all morning until he catches himself looking at his reflection in the window and starting to feel sick. The last thing he wants is to have another panic attack, at work of all places.

He sits down in front of his computer, closes that email without looking at it again, and opens a new one to Milo.

You didn’t have to delete that comment on my account.

Luckily, he barely has to wait for a response. I did not delete it solely on your account. My blog is a positive space. I don’t allow people to talk like that on it. Besides, there’s never a reason to be rude about someone else’s submissive, and there’s never a reason to let other people do it to yours, either.

Hunter reads the email six times before he even tries to respond to it. That sounds a lot like defending my honor, man.

Not your honor. Your right to be treated with the dignity and respect due to you. If it makes you uncomfortable to have me tell him what I think of him, I’m happy to hand over his email address.

Also, the email continues, it’s not true. Your ass is gorgeous, and I can’t conceive of a better person.

Hunter reads that six times as well. He’s not convinced about either of those things, but it’s nice of Milo to say them. Not wanting to sound needy, he remains silent instead of telling this to Milo and tries to get back to work.

Obviously, his silence isn’t an acceptable answer since Milo emails him half an hour later.

I want to come over tonight.

Milo promised him that “no” was always a complete sentence in their relationship, but Hunter doesn’t actually want to refuse, regardless of what his better judgment might tell him. The forcefulness sends a shiver down his spine, which he knows wasn’t really supposed to happen. He can kid himself that he’s only agreeing because Milo just inviting himself is a turn-on.

Okay, he sends back. Just the one word. He’ll let Milo keep the details to himself until he shows up.
